Recap: Michigan State's offense wakes up in 51-17 win over Western Michigan

New Michigan State offensive coordinator Brad Salem opened up the playbook and in Saturday night's contest with Western Michigan, as the Spartans gained 582 total yards of offense en route to a 51-17 win at Spartan Stadium.

Without Jalen Nailor in the lineup, Darrell Stewart caught 10 passes for 185 yards and a touchdown, redshirt freshman Elijah Collins rushed for 192 yards on 17 carries in his first career start, and Brian Lewerke went 23-for-32 passing with 314 yards and three touchdowns for Michigan State (2-0).
