Michigan State had the last laugh in a tight back-and-forth contest on Saturday at Spartan Stadium, using a chip-shot field goal by Matt Coghlin just before time expired to skate past Indiana, 40-31.

Michigan State's offense racked up 442 yards and 300 through the air. Indiana's offense gave Michigan State a tough time, as freshman quarterback Michael Penix Jr. finished 33-for-42 passing for 286 yards and three touchdowns.
