Only 1 Ohio State trustee wanted Urban Meyer to get harsher punishment

Of the 20 Ohio State trustees in the room, only one advocated for harsher punishment.

And now Jeffrey Wadsworth has resigned.

Urban Meyer is suspended for the Buckeyes' first three football games, and he's been on paid administrative leave since Aug. 1 for his role in not properly handling a former assistant coach following accusations of domestic violence.

Wadsworth told The New York Times he was the "lone voice" in the room who was advocating for something beyond what Meyer was handed.

"Most people were concerned about whether it was a several-game suspension or not," Wadsworth told The Times.
