Olympic gymnasts tell U.S. Senators Nassar's abuse thrived in the sport's culture

When U.S. Senators asked Jordyn Wieber, Jamie Dantzscher and other former elite athletes Wednesday whether they thought sexual abuse was still occurring in their respective sports, they had no doubts that it was.

"I know for sure it's still going on," said Dantzscher, an Olympic bronze medalist and a victim of former Michigan State University doctor Larry Nassar.

She told senators the current culture of elite gymnastics lends itself to it, describing situations where Nassar would touch her all over her body in the middle of a crowded gym.

"Everyone was there - no one thought anything of it," she said.
