• After going through the non-conference portion of its schedule undefeated at 4-0, No. 2/2 Michigan State opens the Big Ten season on Saturday, Oct. 3 against Purdue (1-3) at noon in Spartan Stadium for the school’s 100th Homecoming game. Following its 30-10 win over Central Michigan, MSU enters the contest with an eight-game winning streak, tied for the second longest under head coach Mark Dantonio (11 straight in 2013-14; eight straight in 2010); it’s also the fourth-longest active streak in the NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (Ohio State: 17; TCU: 12; Memphis: 11).
