New Michigan State football coach Mel Tucker planning 'to bring juice' to Spartans

EAST LANSING — Three weeks ago, Mel Tucker was getting Colorado ready for spring workouts as Mark Dantonio announced his retirement.

Three weeks from Tuesday, Tucker will open his first spring practices with Michigan State football – a whirlwind in which the Spartans’ new head coach has been building a new coaching staff, learning names and faces of his new players and working to stamp his imprint on the program after the departure of the winningest coach in school history.
