MSU women get No. 4 seed but not home court

EAST LANSING – The Michigan State women’s basketball team earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA tournament and because the top four seeds are allowed to have home court advantage for the first two rounds of the tournament, the Spartans will play at MSU.

But at the wrong MSU.

Since Michigan State is hosting the girls high school tournament this weekend, the Spartans are forced to play their first-round game against No. 13 seed Belmont at noon Friday in Starkville, Miss, home of Mississippi State, which plays No. 12 seed Chattanooga.

A first-round victory for both MSU teams would mean the Spartans will be the only No.
