MINNEAPOLIS -- Tom Izzo is going big, for the first time this season.
Junior big man Gavin Schilling will start at power forward today for No. 1 MSU (13-1, 0-1 Big Ten) at Minnesota, working next to senior center Matt Costello. They have alternated at center for the large majority of their careers.
That's in part, Izzo said, because he wants to open up more opportunities for freshman big man Deyonta Davis to play.
"We need to get Deyonta Davis in there more," Izzo said.
