EAST LANSING — Members of the 1979 NCAA championship team lined up outside the Michigan State basketball locker room. Coach Tom Izzo moved down the line of former players, slapping hands and grinning, as he passed MSU royalty – Greg Kelser and Magic Johnson.
“Let’s party like it’s 1979!” Izzo shouted in relief, after MSU snapped a three-game losing streak with a 79-55 victory over Minnesota on Saturday in the Breslin Center.
