MSU has solid showing at foul line in Italy

Fifteen feet away and 10 feet high, free throws are the same on any court in any country – so maybe Michigan State's first exhibition game in Italy suggests better days ahead in that category for the Spartans.

Of course, there was little pressure accompanying a 98-54 win Tuesday over a pro team from Florence, Basket Fiorentina. But MSU's 14-for-18 showing at the foul line had to be viewed as a positive by Tom Izzo after last season's dismal 63.2% foul shooting – the worst of his 20 MSU teams.

"I thought we were locked in," Izzo told msuspartans.
