MSU commits Christie, Brooks earn Gatorade Player of the Year

One Gatorade Player of the Year sounds nice.

Well two? THAT JUST SOUNDS MIGHTY DANDY, DOESN’T IT??

On Friday two-thirds of Michigan State basketball’s 2021 class earned their respective state’s Gatorade Player of the Year honors with Pierre Brooks winning Michigan’s and Max Christie winning Illinois’.

Christie led Rolling Meadows to a perfect 15-0 this season with his 24 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. The five-star shooting guard also tacked on 3.9 assists and 3.1 steals per game as well.

Christie is the first Illinois Gatorade Player of the Year to be heading to East Lansing since Shannon Brown did so in 2003.
