MSU 65, Purdue 64: Spartans advance in Big Ten women's tournament

INDIANAPOLIS -- The schizophrenic Spartans were at it again.

The team that scored 107 points Saturday, struggled mightily Friday night in the third round of the women’s Big Ten tournament, but rallied to pull out a --- victory over Purdue.

On a night most of her teammates needs a road map to find the basket, Aerial Powers came through with 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the third-seeded Spartans into Saturday’s semifinal game against No. 2 Ohio State at about 5:30 p.m.

The Spartans and Ohio State split two hotly-contested regular season games. Ohio State beat MSU in Columbus, 85-80, in the Big Ten opener when MSU blew a lead and had three players foul out.
