Michigan State's Tom Izzo on why college basketball must be cautious — but continue play

Tom Izzo walked around Virginia’s campus in the hours after Michigan State basketball’s game scheduled for Wednesday was postponed late Tuesday night.

Around the same time at a different Atlantic Coast Conference school, Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski learned about the postponement and expressed his view that college basketball should reconsider whether stopping the season during the pandemic.

Izzo on Thursday told the "Tiki and Tierney" show on CBS Radio, however, his mind has not changed about whether college basketball should be playing. His opinion: “The greatest mental health I think is when an athlete is in athletics.
