EAST LANSING — Even though most special teams were not live during Michigan State football’s spring game, Mark Dantonio pointed to the return game as an offseason area of emphasis.

“The return team was a position where we needed to be more productive,” Dantonio said on his radio pregame show, “so we're working towards that.”

Dantonio said the two projected starting wide receivers are the front-runners for the punt and kickoff duties, with both players working on each unit during the spring in hope of revive the Spartans’ return game to a level they have not seen in nearly a decade since Keshawn Martin’s departure.
