Michigan State's Payton Thorne named Big Ten's Co-Offensive Player of the Week

Another week, another Michigan State football player being recognized for his feats on offense.

Payton Thorne, MSU's sophomore quarterback, was named Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his four-touchdown performance in a win Saturday vs. Miami (Florida). Thorne was 18-for-31 passing, amassing 261 yards without a turnover. He also had a crucial 22-yard run on third down in the fourth quarter.

He was instrumental in the Spartans' 38-17 upset over the Hurricanes, throwing two fourth-quarter touchdowns to seal the win. In three starts this year, Thorne has 726 yards passing, nine touchdowns and no interceptions.
