Michigan State's LJ Scott still questionable with ankle injury

EAST LANSING - Michigan State was without starting running back LJ Scott last week due to an ankle injury.

And it's still unclear if he will play on Saturday when the No. 21 Spartans (2-1) host Central Michigan (1-3).

Asked if Scott was day-to-day or will be back this week, Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio gave a mixed response.

"I expect him to play, maybe day-to-day," Dantonio said Tuesday morning.

Scott was injured in the third quarter of a 16-13 loss at Arizona State on Sept. 8 and didn't return to the game. He dressed and warmed up for last week's 35-21 win at Indiana but didn't play a snap.
