EAST LANSING — It was 135 degrees on Michigan State football’s outdoor practice field Tuesday.
So hot it almost felt like home for Brian Lewerke.
“It still feels really hot when I go home,” he said as sweat dripped off his forehead.
That is where Lewerke is headed Saturday, when the 13th-ranked Spartans face Arizona State in Tempe, a little more than 20 minutes away from where he grew up in Phoenix.
