COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Brian Lewerke will start at quarterback for Michigan State football today when the Spartans face Maryland.
The junior quarterback sat out last week’s game against Purdue with a righrt shoulder injury. He was replaced by redshirt freshman Rocky Lombardi, who threw for 318 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.
The Spartans will be without running back LJ Scott again against the Terrapins (noon, ESPN2). The senior missed four games with an ankle injury he suffered at Arizona State on Sept. 8. He left late in the Purdue game last week and did not return.
