This isn’t the season everyone expected from Michigan State. The Spartans are just 4-4 after a three-game losing streak and many believed this team would be, at worst, 6-2 at this point in the year with wins over Arizona State and Penn State at home.
However, things have gone the route of disaster. A loss to the Sun Devils seemed to be the start of the letdown season. They then squeaked by Indiana at home before losing to Ohio State, Wisconsin and Penn State in back-to-back-to-back games to end October without a single victory.
With Illinois coming to town on Saturday afternoon, the Spartans could use a confidence-boost, but the Illini are better than expected this season with a 5-4 record.
