Michigan State Spartans made small gains in both AP and Coaches polls

Despite a second half that saw almost no offensive, the Michigan State Spartans have climbed up further in the top-25 rankings in both the Associated Press and USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll following an overtime win versus the Nebraska Cornhuskers. MSU checks in at No. 17 in the AP Poll and tied for No. 16 in the Coaches Poll.

The win over Nebraska kept Michigan State ranked for the second straight week under second year head coach Mel Tucker, and marks the first time the team is ranked inside the top-20 in both polls with him at the helm.
