EAST LANSING — As new Michigan State football running back Kenneth Walker III fielded questions Thursday from the media, an unexpected reporter walked up and delivered one.
His teammate Connor Heyward.
“What’s the best part of your game?” Heyward asked, then cut off his position mate before he could respond. “Home run. Every time he touches the ball.”

Walker laughed, but Heyward's comments reflect the hope for the Wake Forest transfer, who is part of a crowded backfieldcompetition.
