Michigan State needs to find a starting running back for 2019

EAST LANSING — Connor Heyward and La’Darius Jefferson became Michigan State’s top running backs in 2018 by default.

The returning duo enter this season with much more competition for carries — and without the assuredness that one of them will be the guy to replace LJ Scott as the Spartans’ featured ball-carrier.
