Michigan State looking for new 2019 QB and 3-star Texas legacy Sam Saxton is interested

Sam Saxton went most of the afternoon without checking his phone.

When the 2019 three-star quarterback from St. Michael's Catholic Academy in Austin, Texas, did glance at Twitter, he noticed a group of new followers, including Michigan State coaches.

Saxton received a message from Sheldon White, Michigan State's executive director of player personnel and recruiting, and shortly later was on the phone with quarterbacks coach Brad Salem.

The initial contact between Saxton and the program came on June 24, the same day Oak Park 2019 four-star quarterback Dwan Mathis flipped his commitment from Michigan State to Ohio State.
