Michigan State football's Mark Dantonio has plans for retirement, just not a timeline

Michigan State football's Mark Dantonio is three wins away from breaking Duffy Daugherty's record of 109 victories as the Spartans' head coach.

CHICAGO — Mark Dantonio tells his players there will be a huge void to fill in their lives after finishing their football careers, preaching to them to find something they are passionate about with their Michigan State education.

He, too, knows there is life after coaching. Already, he has plans for what he will do.

He just doesn't know when that will be.

“That’s a good question,” Dantonio, on the cusp of his 13th season with the Spartans, said Thursday at Big Ten media day.
