One of those occasions can almost receive a pass since Le’Veon Bell was just 52 yards short of the mark while the other happened to be the freshman seasons of both Larry Caper and Edwin Baker — they accounted for a combined 895 yards and seven touchdowns.
Could the 2015 season be one more campaign in which Dantonio goes the whole year without a 1,000-yard back or will someone step up?
