The state of Michigan is absolutely loaded when it comes to the 2021 recruiting cycle. For years, the state has produced some of the top talent in the nation as programs like Ohio State, Kentucky, Penn State and Notre Dame have plucked kids right from Michigan State’s backyard.
Both Michigan and Michigan State have found it increasingly difficult to keep these kids at home with the growing interest from around the Big Ten and the country.
While Mark Dantonio had some of his best recruiting classes when he landed primarily Michigan and Ohio prospects, he struggled in state over the past few cycles.
