EAST LANSING — When you talk to Michigan State players about redshirt freshman tight end Trenton Gillison, they all use a variation of the same word.

“He’s just athletic,” senior quarterback Brian Lewerke said.

“He’s got some athleticism that other guys might not have,” senior tight end Matt Seybert said.

The native of Pickerington, Ohio, was ranked the top tight end in the state coming out of high school in 2018, but was slow to earn trust in MSU’s offensive system.
