Michigan State football signee arrested, charged with extorting underage girl who denied him sex

A Michigan State football signee is in jail and accuse of a sex crime in Florida.

Incoming cornerback recruit Steffan Johnson was arrested for extortion directing or promoting sexual performance by a child in North Port, Florida, according to a police report obtained by the Free Press on Thursday afternoon.

A message to MSU was not immediately returned.

The 18-year-old Johnson is accused of threatening a juvenile female of posting sexual videos of the alleged victim on social media. The video allegedly was recorded when the victim was 15 and Johnson was 17, according to police, and Johnson is accused to have “threatened to injure the reputation” of the victim.
