Not many people are picking the Spartans to win the Big Ten East, but that’s just how they like it. Mark Dantonio has gotten his team up by preaching about the chip on the shoulder and he’s thrived as an underdog throughout his coaching career in East Lansing.
In fact, each year the Spartans had six wins or less, he’s followed it up with a bounce-back year, mostly 10-plus win seasons, and Big Ten title contention.
