Michigan State football lands four-star commit ATH Dillon Tatum from West Bloomfield

Mel Tucker's class of 2022 continues to improve, with four-star recruit Dillon Tatum is headed to Michigan State football.

The West Bloomfield star committed to Tucker’s squad on Wednesday night via Instagram and CBS Sports HQ’s Twitter.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound athlete is the No. 5 recruit in Michigan as well as the No. 13 athlete in the nation, according to 247 Sports' composite rankings. Tatum also had offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue, Nebraska and Iowa in the Big Ten, as well as Baylor, Georgia, Notre Dame and Tennessee nationally.

Tatum starred on both sides of the ball at West Bloomfield, including a solid stint as the backup running back behind Michigan's Donovan Edwards during the Lakers' run to a state title in 2020, but he’s likely to see more time on defense in East Lansing.
