Michigan State football lands 3-star 2021 QB prospect Hamp Fay from Texas

Mel Tucker has his first quarterback commitment.

Moments after the NFL draft concluded Saturday evening, Hamp Fay from Texas announced his commitment to Michigan State football for 2021.

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Fay, who plays for All Saints Episcopal in Fort Worth, chose the Spartans over offers from Illinois, Indiana, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Boise State and others.

Fay is a three-star prospect and rated the No. 36 pro-style quarterback in the nation according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. He ranks as the No. 1,082 player overall and 151st-best in Texas.

Fay, who played receiver as a sophomore, suffered a labrum injury that cut short his junior season.
