One day after Michigan State football concluded its regular season, the 2018 Spartan football awards banquet was held at the Kellogg Center.

Junior defensive end Kenny Willekes headlined the awards by being named Most Valuable Player (Governor's Award) by his teammates. Willekes becomes the first-ever Spartan defensive end to win the Governor’s Award, which has been given out since 1931.
