A week after finding rhythm, MSU looked out of sync for much of the rivalry game. The Spartans had 119 of their 220 total yards of offense on two scoring drives. Quarterback Brian Lewerke struggled with his accuracy after a first-quarter TD, short-hopping receivers and missing big plays with underthrows.
