Michigan State football gets 3-star WR Keon Coleman, who plans to play basketball, too

Coleman, a 2021 three-star wide receiver from Opelousas (La.) Catholic, plans to play football and basketball in college. He picked MSU over 40 other offers, including Kansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, Penn State, Auburn and Arizona.

The plan is for Coleman to be on scholarship for Mel Tucker's team and walk on to Tom Izzo's team.

Coleman, 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, ranks 62nd among wide receivers on the 247sports Composite rankings and 12th overall in Louisiana. Coleman had 22 touchdowns and seven interceptions as a junior. He committed to Kansas last July, but de-committed in October to pursue other offers.
