EAST LANSING — The blows have been more pronounced. The suffering has intensified. The scars have deepened. In the 11th week of the season, Michigan State is battered, bruised, and according to Mark Dantonio, harboring the mentality of a "wounded animal."

Dantonio made that assertion Tuesday, with the Spartans carrying a 4-4 record and the hope of bowl eligibility into the final stretch of the season.
