Michigan State Football: 3 takeaways from Week 13 blowout win over Rutgers

For the first time since September, Michigan State came out of a game with a win. The Spartans had their way with a 2-8 (now 2-9) Rutgers squad on Saturday afternoon in Piscataway 27-0.

Brian Lewerke had one of his better games, completing 21-of-30 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns and an interception that wasn’t quite his fault, but was dropped in the end zone by Cody White and landed into the waiting arms of a Rutgers defender.

Overall, the defense dominated and the offense had its moments, but left a lot of points on the field.
