The Spartans out-scored Minnesota 17-0 through 28 minutes in the second half, but Minnesota scored the game-tying touchdown with 29 seconds left, giving the ball back to Michigan State with a chance to go down and kick the game-winning field goal.
Michigan State took it to overtime and got the ball first after losing the toss, kicking a field goal after one of the most horrendous referee mishaps that I’ve ever seen.
