Michigan State COVID-19 testsing: No new cases, one Spartan has second positive result

Michigan State’s athletic department reported no new cases of coronavirus in Monday’s batch of 41 tests.

However, one Spartan athlete who previously tested positive registered a second positive test. The other 40 came back negative, the school said in a release.

The athlete – whose team and gender were not revealed – will remain in isolation with daily check-ins from the MSU athletic training staff.

“Further testing and physician follow-up will be required prior to returning to any level of workouts,” the release said.
