Michigan State Basketball suffered a tough loss on Tuesday night at the hands of No. 18 Purdue at Mackey Arena, 82-81 in overtime.
While it wasn’t as disappointing of a loss as it could have been since the Spartans were down by 16 at halftime, there’s also chatter that maybe it shouldn’t have been a loss at all.
Michigan State held a lead with five minutes left and were held scoreless for some time, Purdue tied it up and Denzel Valentine missed a poor shot with no time left, forcing overtime. The overtime looked to swing in the Boilermakers’ direction, but Michigan State tied it up with 11 seconds left on a layup by Valentine.
