EAST LANSING – Michigan State’s quest for No. 1 will have to wait.
The Spartans moved up a spot to No. 2 in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and the Associated Press Top 25, both of which were released Monday afternoon. Villanova ascended to the top spot in both rankings.
MSU has not been No. 1 in the polls since the first week in January 2016.
