Michigan State basketball stunned in 71-42 blowout loss at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Cassius Winston took the outlet and turned up the court.

He ran square into Purdue’s Trevion Williams. The ball jarred free, and Williams tied up the Michigan State point guard on the floor for a change of possession.

No. 8 MSU’s senior star struggled against the Boilermakers’ defense, the Spartans endured shooting woes and watched their eight-game win streak and unbeaten Big Ten record both come to an end with a 71-42 defeat.

MSU committed 18 turnovers that led to 21 Purdue points in its worst loss since losing 86-57 to Michigan on Feb.
