The expectations are high. So are the rankings for Michigan State basketball.
The Spartans are No. 2 in the Associated Press preseason poll, which was released Wednesday. MSU also is ranked No. 2 in the USA Today Coaches Poll that was released last month.
MSU, which finished last season 20-15 and lost to Kansas in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, sits behind Duke and ahead of the Jayhawks in both polls.
The Spartans play the Blue Devils in the Champions Classic on Nov. 14 at United Center in Chicago. MSU also hosts No. 14 Notre Dame on Nov.
