College basketball coaches were free to reach out directly to rising juniors this week and Tom Izzo wasted no time making his presence known. The Michigan State basketball coach has been recruiting at an elite level over the past couple of classes now and he’s looking to make sure that continues in 2025.
In 2023, Izzo was able to land Xavier Booker, Jeremy Fears, Coen Carr, and Gehrig Normand and the 2024 class is off to a hot start with Kur Teng and Jesse McCulloch committed.
The 2025 cycle could be even more impressive for Izzo.
According to Joe Tipton, Michigan State reached out to Darius Acuff, Koa Peat, and Jalen Haralson as soon as the dead period was lifted.
