Michigan State is requiring fans to be vaccinated or have proof of a negative COVID-19 test in order to attend indoor sporting events on campus, including men's and women's basketball games at Breslin Center.
The school announced its new policy Saturday, three days after Tom Izzo's team played without four players who were out with COVID-19. It goes into effect immediately and will be in place for the Spartans' game 7 p.m. Wednesday at Breslin against Nebraska.
MSU is not alone in making this decision. Illinois, Maryland, Rutgers and Northwestern all announced fan vaccine requirements in recent weeks.
