Michigan hockey rallies from early deficit vs. MSU for 4-1 win, 1-0 Big Ten tourney lead

Welcome back, Matty Beniers.

The Michigan hockey sophomore, who missed nearly a month while with Team USA for the Olympics in Beijing, scored his second goal since returning to the U-M lineup, tying it at 1 with just under 12 minutes remaining in the first period. The Wolverines scored three more times for a 4-1 win in Game 1 of their Big Ten tournament quarterfinal series with Michigan State.

Dennis Cesana put the No. 7-seeded Spartans ahead on his goal 39 seconds into a power play and 4:36 into the first period, for his eighth score of the season.
