Michigan football on the preseason bubble for College Football Playoff

The college football season has not begun yet, but if we have preseason rankings and conference predictions, what stops us from going one step further?

CBSSports.com's Jerry Palm posted bowl projections for the upcoming season, and Michigan football is not one of his four teams expected to qualify for the College Football Playoff.

Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Georgia are the teams he predicts will make the CFP. Palm has U-M as an at-large team in the New Year's Six, facing Central Florida in the Cotton Bowl. That's because he has Ohio State winning the Big Ten and going to the Rose Bowl to play against Washington.
