Matt Dotson wants the ball and Michigan State is looking to boost TE production

EAST LANSING - Rocky Lombardi heard it before he took his first practice snap at Michigan State.

It was a one-man lobbying approach launched by tight end Matt Dotson, who wanted to make sure the quarterback knew where he should be looking to throw.

"As soon as I saw him commit, I was in his ear just trying to get me and him a good relationship because I knew eventually his time is going to come and I'm going to be here playing too," Dotson said of Lombardi. "I just want to make sure that we've got a good connection, so he tries to throw us a bone.
