FLINT, MI -- Former NBA player and Michigan State basketball star Mateen Cleaves is scheduled to be back in court in the on-going sexual assault investigation against him.
Cleaves is set to appear before Genesee Circuit Judge Celeste D. Bell for a pretrial hearing on May 24.
He is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at the Knights Inn motel in Mundy Township after a charity golf outing on Sept. 15, 2015.
The hearing is the first court appearance for Cleaves after the Michigan Supreme Court said in January it would not hear an appeal in the case.
