Mark Hollis resigns as Michigan State athletic director

East Lansing – Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis announced his resignation on Friday, just days after former Michigan State doctor Larry Nassar was sentenced for up to 175 years in prison for sexually assaulting dozens of young women, including some Michigan State student-athletes.

The NCAA also sent a letter of inquiry early this week, stating it will begin an investigation into the athletic department and its handling of the Nassar case.

Hollis said he last day at MSU will be Wednesday. He said he doesn't plan on having any role with the university after that, though he would cooperate with all investigations going forward.
