EAST LANSING – Every January for the past 22 years, while her husband Tom is coaching Michigan State’s basketball team, Lupe Izzo has her own recruiting mission outside Breslin Center.
And it’s one that extends well beyond any sport or rivalry.
Sunday, she again will head MSU’s annual food drive, which helps the MSU Student Food Bank and the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
“Out of five people, three or four of them are in need of assistance,” Lupe Izzo said Friday on WVFN 730-AM in Lansing. “They have to make a choice whether to pay their rent, their medical bills, insurances, house payments.
